Blue13's Playdate Residency Performance - 6/23

Description

PLAYDATE is Blue13's innovative two-week choreography, research, and dance residency program funded by the National Endowment for the Arts that aims to address the lack of visibility of AAPINH artists in the dance field. This collaborative program brings together four talented and diverse Asian American Hawaii Native and Pacific Islander identifying choreographers to create new work and investigate with how to empower AAPI artists through dance. Each choreographer will bring a group of dancers to join them in improvisation and discourse with another dance maker’s group, ultimately performing a collaborative work in progress sharing for the Los Angeles public at Stomping Ground LA June 23, 7:30pm.

Featuring our inaugural Playdate cohort: Tokie Wang, Ramita Ravi, Jainil Mehta, and Barkha Patel, along with Blue13 Dance Company. This is your chance to hear from dancers and dance makers and talk about play, improvisation, collaboration, and process, specifially through an intersectional AAPNH lens.
